The School Advisory Board (SAB) is a consultative body responsible for helping form policy, advise on fiscal and other matters, and recommend goals for St. Francis de Sales School and the SAB itself, subject to the authority of the Parish Pastor and the School Principal. The current SAB is composed of current school parents who were asked to join or expressed interest last year. Learn more about the Board members below.

Ashley Hindes and her husband Eddy have been parishioners at St. Francis de Sales since 2008 and our 3 children have attended SFDS since preschool. We choose SFDS because they want their “children to have a faith based education that emphasizes not only academic success but also kindness, compassion, and grace.” Ashley's goal of being a part of the Parent Advisory Board of SFDS is to help facilitate communication between families of SFDS and administration and to help continue to build a loving and enriching environment for all of our children at SFDS!

Abigail Rehbeck and her husband Darby live in Newark with their four children. Abigail received her bachelor’s degree from MVNU. She works as an AVP in Park National Bank’s Wealth Management department and serves with several local non-profit organizations. Raised in a Southern Baptist pastor’s family, Abigail converted to Catholicism as an adult after studying this ancient and beautiful faith. She and her husband are very grateful for the blessing of the classical Catholic education model at SFDS. They currently have three children enrolled here.

Stephanie Shonebarger is member of St Francis de Sales Parish with her daughters, Malena and Mirra. She has lived in Newark all her life. She graduated from Newark High School, and she is a graduate of Business and Organizational Communication from Otterbein University. Stephanie works for State Farm Insurance as a Claim Specialist in Homeowner Claims. Malena is studying Business at Ohio University. Mirra is a 7th grader at St Francis, and she is a member of the St Francis and Blessed Sacrament Band. Mirra also rides horses competitively. Stephanie has been a member of the Parish since Malena started school in 2006. She chose a Catholic education for her children so they would have a faith-based learning experience and a tight-knit community of loving and protective parents and teachers.

Alison Weate and Peter Weate are on the board and have one child, Kendahl, attending SFDS. Alison has been an educator for the last 22 years and currently teaches 5th/6th grade math and science at Granville Intermediate School. Peter also serves the local community as a long time tax accountant at Plaza Tax. They both feel that SFDS has been a fundamental part of Kendahl's academic and social development and would like to give back to the school in any way they can. They have seen how a classical Catholic education has helped Kendahl to develop a strong faith and work ethic, which they know will benefit her in her future.

Bobby Wright serves as the Director of Product Growth for two franchise brands at The N2 Company. He and his wife, Monica, reside in Granville, Ohio, with their three sons—Warren, Wesley, and Dean—all of whom attend St. Francis School. Ed and Veronica are both Alumni from The Ohio State University and work as accountants. Veronica works at JPMorgan Chase, and Ed works at Veeva Systems. They moved to Newark from Pickerington in 2023, as they knew they wanted to be fully committed to this school and parish. They are so grateful for St. Francis and the classical curriculum. They feel that St. Francis will help give our kids the foundation they need in developing their relationship with the Lord, as they get a chance to encounter Christ daily.
